STATE JUDGES SUBMISSION FORM
To confirm your proposed state judges in a timely manner, the State Judges Form should to be submitted at least sixty (60) days prior to your State Competition. When the State Judges Form is submitted, the system automatically forwards a receipt acknowledgement along with a copy of your submission. Please note the automatic receipt does not serve as MAHQ approval for your proposed State Judges. The National Office will contact you to either to confirm or request additional information on your proposed judges, usually within 3-5 days.
Guidelines to complete the State Judges Form:
1) Use the tab key or the mouse to move between fields. You will receive an automatic prompt if a required field is not entered. If the field does not apply, please enter N/A.
2) If a proposed judge is retired, please enter their retired position and occupation.
3) If you're submitting a former candidate or titleholder, please include their highest title and year, as well as their current occupation. Please note: a titleholder and their family members are not eligible to judge a State or a Local Competition for one (1) year from the crowning of their successor.
4) State Affiliation is the State Organization where the proposed judge currently or previously served as a volunteer in a state or local organization - it is not your state. The next field asks the state or local volunteer position held.
5) Judges’ bios in program books and announcements from stage should not promote any other competition/pageant system
6) As a reminder, Judges need to be thoroughly vetted and all MAHQ Judges Rules must be met, as well as the items listed on the Judges Affidavit. As a reminder, anyone who engages or has engaged in conduct which adversely reflects and considered harmful to MAHQ’s reputation, including the uttering or publishing of any disparaging comments regarding MAHQ, affiliates, or participants in the Miss America Program; and/or fails to present communications to members of the public in a professional manner to maintain and enhance the Miss America Program’s broad public acceptance and in order to prevent damage to MAHQ’s business or reputation are barred from judging. If a person has judged in MAHQ state, local, or national competitions in the past, they still must meet this and ALL judges requirements. Sponsors to the program shall not serve as a judge.
7) As a courtesy to your colleagues in other states, it is highly recommended you confirm any potential judge who resides in their home state to make sure your proposed judge is in good standing in their state whether the proposed judge is a volunteer, former volunteer, former titleholder, or never involved. Please note, even if they have previously judged, it does not confirm they are in good-standing.
